Zambia is host to one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the world, the incredible Victoria Falls! Come and admire this natural treasure up close while supporting the local community with our volunteering projects. Our volunteering trip combines a complete cultural immersion, unique traditional experiences and the opportunity to develop professional and human skills!
The local organization with which we collaborate shares our values and responds to the real needs of its community. We take care to protect vulnerable populations in our choice of activities and we make sure that our volunteering projects will have positive impacts that will continue over time.
The relationships you will develop on this trip will probably follow you all your life, whether it is with the local community or with the other volunteers! You will certainly create memorable memories through authentic and human experiences.
Our solid partnership with a local organization allows us to support its community projects at a very low cost. The costs cover your accommodation, food and transport, as well as all the support before, during and after the trip. Part of the costs will be used to purchase equipment for the projects according to the priorities once we'll be there.
Our local team as well as our guide are dedicated to ensuring your safety, comfort and pleasure throughout your volunteering trip. Have fun and enjoy your trip to the fullest!
Our local partner is a non-profit organization operating in a small rural village near Livingstone. This organization operates a preschool and a community center which aims to provide free education to the community living in conditions of extreme poverty. Their school opened in January 2016 and now welcomes 30 children aged between 2 and 6 years old. They are divided into 3 classes according to their age group. Play is the primary educational tool used by the organization to ensure that children have fun while learning. Their values of cooperation, respect and empathy are reflected in all of their activities.
During your humanitarian trip, it is suggested that you participate in a few hours of volunteer work per day (Monday to Friday) in order to create great memories with the local community and to really contribute to its development. You will also have the option of participating in one or many projects of your choice!
* When booking, please indicate the project(s) that interest you in the “Additional information” box.
During the day, you can assist the teachers and organize educational activities for children. As the school is from 7:30 AM to 3 PM, it will be possible to separate the volunteers so that some go in the morning and others in the afternoon, and then change the schedules according to your preference. The rest of the day can be dedicated to preparing academic activities, but also to the development of special activities such as sports, homework and reading clubs, computer skills, etc.
If you wish to teach and assist the teachers, you can stay with the same group for the two weeks in order to get to know the children better and support them in a targeted and individualized manner.
The community center offers free workshops and activities after school and during school holidays: empowerment for women and girls, skills training, educational workshops on various subjects, first aid courses, recycling club, chess, math, etc. On the other hand, many ecological initiatives are implemented by the organization. It is even the first community recycling center in the village! The activities of the community center take place from 3 PM to 5 PM.
Are you an occupational therapy student or a professional who would like to develop your practice in a different context? This project is for you! An occupational therapist from Quebec (member of the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec) will accompany and support you in your practice.
Occupational therapy services will be offered to a pediatric clientele and will include the assessments of their needs, as well as interventions to support their development.

The schedule is variable and can be adapted according to your preferences. The school takes place from 7:30 AM to 3 PM., then the activities of the community center take place from 3 PM to 5 PM

Tammy is Canadian and she has been living in Africa since 2011. She has traveled and volunteered there since then, while enjoying every minute spent on the African soil. With such a background, Tammy dreamed of working with an entire community, from the youngest to the oldest. This is how she came up with the idea of building a school and a community center where she will warmly welcome us during our humanitarian trip to Zambia!
