HOW?
1- Initial meeting to get to know each other, determine compatibility and establish the client’s profile

THIS SERVICE INCLUDES:
- In-person meeting before the trip (or by video, depending on your preference)
- Support to set up your crowdfunding campaign, if desired
- Organization of your trip (if desired) according to your needs, interests and budget (research, reservations, logistics management in terms of schedule, activities, etc.)
- Assistance before, during and after the trip
- Personalized recommendations based on the client's profile to facilitate travel (e.g. sensory profile)
- Full or partial support, depending on your needs
- Support by a qualified healthcare professional (Occupational Therapist, M.Sc.)
- Protection offered by the Compensation fund for customers of travel agents (FICAV) if reservations are made by Yulgo Travels
This service does not include:
- The administration of specific medical care and the management of medication
MEET LAURIE, YOUR TRAVEL COMPANION!
LAURIE, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST (M.Sc)
Laurie is passionate about helping others and she travels the world to work with people, whether as a volunteer in a school for deaf, mute and blind children in Sri Lanka, in a specialized class in Zambia, or as an occupational therapist in a nonprofit organization (NPO) in Montreal. Her dedication was rewarded when she received the Lieutenant Governor’s Medal for Youth in 2016, an honor that highlighted her community and academic commitment, her inspiring attitude and her positive influence in the community.
She has a gentle and empathetic personality as well as great adaptability skills, which make her a great companion who will listen to you and do her best to meet your needs. Laurie is motivated to optimize people’s well-being in their daily lives, which is why her mission is to make travel accessible to everyone. She will be happy to accompany you or a member of your family on a tailor-made trip, so that you can all enjoy the trip!
Professional experiences:
- Occupational therapist in a nonprofit organization (NPO): pediatrics, oncology, mental health, musculoskeletal disorders, chronic pain
- Companion for people with various disabilities (0-30 years old) for the NGO Solidarity of parents of people with disabilities
- Certified yoga teacher – 200h
- Certification of travel agency manager issued by the Office de la protection du consommateur
- Occupational therapy experiences at the Montreal Youth Center – University Institute (0-18 years under the Direction of youth protection), at Giant Steps School (4-21 years old with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder) and in hospitals.
- Speaker and member of the Oncology Community of the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec
- Volunteer at a day center for adults dealing with mental health issues in Montreal
- Volunteer trips:
- Zambia (occupational therapy in specialized classes and in the community)
- South Africa (surf therapy program for children coming from disadvantaged neighbourhoods)
- Sri Lanka (elders’ home and school for deaf, mute and blind children)
- Ghana (primary and high school)
Rates and availabilities
Trip in Quebec, Canada or abroad:
- Daily rate:
- Partial support (0-4h of service): 150$
- Complete support (4-8h of service): 250$
- Must fully cover the travel expenses of the companion (in addition to the daily rates)
- + taxes & FICAV*
- Possibility of dividing the fees among several people when accompanied on the same trip

IMPORTANT
The travel companion service begins when the presence of the companion is requested by the client. In general, traveling days are charged at the basic rate (without companion service), unless the companion is asked to stay alone with the client for a period of the day. When the travel companion service is not requested by the client, the companion is free to spend the day as she wishes, but she remains available at all times in case of an emergency or if you change your plans during the day.
